One is our Grey St Motors drag racing team in which we are running an 1800cc Methanol powered Harley engine in a drag bike, which is sponsored by Scrap Palace Metal Recyclers.
We are still learning and ironing out small problems with this bike -10 seconds ride time isn't quite enough for diagnostics, but it keeps us thinking.
Racing season is from November through to March every year. The drag bike will be travelling all over New Zealand with the Scrap Palace and Grey Street Motors teams.
Our young mechanic Shannon, also races a Holden Commodore in the Super 6 Series.
This is a car that Shannon, along with his father, grandfather and friends, have built up and have been running competitively for 3 years now - this team rates quite well in the series.
Shannon raced in the NZ V8s - Hamilton 400 this year and came 13th overall.
He is looking to race again next year and is looking for anyone/businesses that would like to sponsor him
